Workshop Assistant/Diesel Mechanic

This is a key role and will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant and equipment in an organised schedule of work.

✨What to expect day to day?
✅Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will maintain and repair all equipment or work with a specialised repair agent.
✅You will undertake the preventative maintenance schedule to ensure limited downtime of machines.
✅You will provide mentoring support to junior farm members to build maintenance skills across the team.
✅You will be responsible for the overall presentation of the workshop and surrounding yard so that inventory is appropriately stocked and well organised and the areas looks tidy always.
✅You will provide back up support to monitor and repair irrigation operations as directed by the Workshop Manager.
✅Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance on plant and equipment on systems like SafeAg Systems.
✨About you:
✅Qualification in Mechanics or Agriculture (desirable)
✅Mechanical aptitude
✅ Previous experience maintaining farm equipment
✅Previous experience operating farm machinery
✅Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and online systems/apps.
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
✅ Forklift license (desirable)
✅ Chemical User Permit or willingness to complete
